International Noise Conference in L.A. tonight

For those of you who love modern music, but don’t know about the International Noise Conference, now is the time to get hip.

Dig INC’s credo—”no droning, no laptops, no mixing boards.” Yes!

Now check the line-up. That’s a lot of music packed into one evening.

Prepare yourself. This shit’s gonna be bonkers…

Every February in Miami, local kingpin Frank “Rat Bastard” Falestra (of To Live and Shave in L.A. and the Laundry Room Squelchers) hosts a noise mega-confab called the International Noise Conference. Underground luminaries too numerous to mention have played (so scroll through the list on the event’s main page).

When the Florida festivities are over, Bastard takes INC on the road. This year he’s visiting 28 cities.

The Los Angeles folks performing tonight are a “who’s who” of the local scene. Basically every person involved with noise as a player/fan/or promoter in Southern California will be there. The stalwart ‘Squelchers will be headlining (of course), and there will be sets from Oscillator (mainman Ben Wolcott is an INC co-curator), Moment Trigger (hosts and co-curators), Pedestrian Deposit, Vampire Pussy, Marilyn Mabson, Legg Lake, Laco$te, Wrong Hole, Concrete Shiva, Sissssttersss, and Andorkappan.

The show starts with a BBQ at 7pm today, Wednesday, April 7. Bring your own beer and meat.

And bring some cash to donate to the bands (a $3-$5 donation is suggested)! There are a lot more stops on this tour.

The show happens at 1852 Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles 90019. (Yes, that’s Women house where a ton of Carnage happened last summer.) Parking is on the street. Organizers promise a line-up will be posted on the door so you won’t miss your favorites. We’ll be there filming. Come and say hi!
