This past Monday night at Il Corral was really f’n fun. I am consistently impressed by how into this endeavor everyone is and I am so thankful to be able to do this.

Future America was awesome—bass and drums party rock with the singer clomping a cow bell with his foot while they jammed. How cool is that? Their song “Tijuana” had everyone clapping and singing along.

It was great to see Moment Trigger in a rock context. I love their pulsing almost rhythmic noise. Plus, just by being themselves, they are some of the best performers to watch and listen to that I know of in L.A.

Ima Fucking Gymnist were really great. They got everyone moving around and that was cool.

Ponce de Leon’s singer boogied himself into a knot on the floor at one point, while the three dancing back-up singers went crazy.

This month’s musical host Alexis Gideon ended the show by blowing us all away with his amazing music. His songs are kinda menacing, kinda poignant and very catchy—Alexis is so good! Don’t miss his set this week.
