Warm Climate & Robedoor: Two bands that namecheck “Sade” play Pehr
Oh Ms. Sade Adu, what fucked-upped-ness hath your smooth sounds wrought?
Not one but two L.A. bands mention you in their pre-Monday show interviews.
Irony, or a sign of the pending apocalypse? Or …?
Warm Climate
What’s the name of your group?
Warm Climate.

Jake White, Caitlin C. Mitchell, Seth Kasselman. Aged to perfection.
How long have you been doing what you do?
10+ years.
How would you describe your aesthetic?
Like a shitty Yes.
Who are your biggest influences?
Alain Savouret and Porter Wagoner.
When is the last time you felt overwhelmed by inspiration?
While touring—constantly changing environments and meeting new people is endlessly inspiring.
What’s your favorite song on the radio and why?
Sade’s “Soldier of Love.” She’s hurt, but she’s so strong, and smooth.
Do you have anything special planned for your Pehrspace performance?
I wanted to play guitar in a lobster suit, but I think we’re going to have Sleepaway Camp projected behind us instead.
If you could get people into one thing that you think is really awesome, what would it be and why?
Birdwatching. Birds have much keener senses than humans. We could learn a lot from them.

Droop-E & E-40’s “I’m Loaded,” for the dope Sade sample.
Do you have anything special planned for your Pehrspace performance?
New songs, brutal visuals.
