PEHRSPACE IS MONDAY NIGHT! NEW PICS: CHUCK DUKOWSKI SEXTET, THE AMAZEMENTS & MORE!!!

Okay, we’ve found the IDEAL new home for Monday nights: Pehrspace at 325 Glendale Blvd. (between Temple & Beverly), in Echo Park.

This past Monday night was our first night in the place and Pehr was totally rocking!!!

Adam and Darren, Andrew and all the other Pehr collective members are truly supportive. Thanks, guys, we are excited to be in such a welcoming environment!

The bands were phenomenal, too. It was a joy and pleasure to meet an idol of mine, Chuck Dukowski. His Sextet was amazing and I look forward to bringing these guys back soon!!

The Doers and Minivan were both incredible—it was like psychotronic Violent Femmes night and I was digging it.

The Amazements rocked—AS USUAL. A number of people turned out just to see them. Cool! If word about this rad band is spreading, that’s a good thing for sure.

Telepathik Friend… well, what can I say? In the photos it’s hard to distinguish between the performers and the backdrop they created. It’s just a big pile of glittery rags. Their noisy, raging performance was a perfect baptism of our new space. Check out the photos below, you won’t be disappointed.

Fireworks had a dental emergency last night, so they are rescheduled to May (details soon). Collapsing Opposites from Vancouver took their place quite ably, and, I must say, I was knocked out by their songs!

Ladies—check this out: DJ Kyle H. Mabson was going CRAZY on the faders last night. He was also sporting a pimp new vest. WOOOO

THIS MONDAY, MARCH 12TH AT PEHRSPACE: Destroy Tokyo (Robin Williams On Fire folk from the Bay), Tinhorn Justice (Cory Beers’ amazing new ensemble playing “The Black Page” by Zappa! Fuck!!), I Heart Lung, Doe, and, from Bloomington, Indiana (courtesy of Deep Jew Jeff), Bitter Homes and Gardens (good band name, that).

The shows start 9pm now, so please make a note of that.

Everything else remains the same: all-ages / $5 / totally D.I.Y.
