William Burgess has been curating/hosting/pimping The Druid Underground Film Fest nearly as long as I have been doing my Monday Nights. He’s one of the people that made the old Il Corral so cool.

This past Monday, Burgess spoke from the heart before both video programs, and he nearly made me cry at least two times. Did I tell you evil is the new good? Burgess’ mandate for the assembled was: you must express yourself. We learned about the videos, and heard from Burgess about supporting the filmmakers. Burgess was a great host.

Skull Kiss did a mystery raffle, and people won suits, a crunch machine, etc.

Daniel Francis Doyle is a returning Monday performer from Austin… He plays everything on drums and samples and sings like a mother fucking super star!! Doyle’s highly modern and forward-looking music is tempered with an almost emo vocal style that just tugs on the heart-strings. A very important artist—I hope you get to hear him.

Skull Kiss was William Burgess and Nacho’s band. They fucking slayed. They did all the culturally loaded songs, but did them straight, and they totally raged. I am gonna bring ’em back. Rad.
