That’s a wrap! Monday Nights gallery exhibit a massive success—thanks to you
THANK YOU to everyone who showed up at Leiminspace, messaged and sent support via socials and email, called on the phone… you turned out! I have rarely felt so supported and happy about a project as I do about the historic Monday Nights gallery run in August 2025.
There’s a lot of story to tell about Monday Nights, the concert series, but probably the best place to learn more about that—besides future posts coming soon—is to buy my book, Monday Nights: L.A.’s Scene of the Century, 2005–16.
Order here: Get this 120-page fully annotated photo book while supplies last
We also have available these incredible t-shirts:
The gallery show was originally planed to last four weeks, but we got held over because of popular demand. That was major! I so appreciate everyone turning out—over 750 people!

Gettin’ the band back together. Monday Nights alumni and new friends. We love you so much! Photo: Miguel Rodriguez.
I love you all. Thank you for making this one of the highlights of my creative life.
Here are some photos and brief thoughts from me about all the crucial people who pitched in:

Schelsey Sabet headed up the Leiminspace effort that nurtured, launched and sustained the show, and I am forever in gratitude to her!

Michael Sabet took what Schelsey helped us set up and ran it for 5 weeks—including booking raves in the space each Friday night. Reminded me of the old days, aww. Thank you, Michael!

Liz Ohanesian was co-curator, writer of the Monday Nights story in the catalog—and the prime motivator for this whole shabazz.

DJ Kyle Mabson has always been my rock. Thank you, sir.

Miguel Rodriguez was co-curator, photo documenter and color-grader (made all the images pop!)—and my sober partner in crime for the whole thing. Couldn’t have done it without you, Miguelito.

Speaking of “couldn’t have done it without you,” Kevin German lent us equipment, his workshop, the photo booth—and his precious time. We love you, Kevin, thank you.

True friend Mary Chartkoff from The Monolators, Your Mom/Your Dad, Madame Headdress, Dawn Of Sequins et al. frought her family—and a beautiful cake!

It was wonderful to see Andrew Harvey, a friend from way back who brought the Monday Nights spirit to his own productions. That’s the highest compliment!

John Thill was absolutely wonderful in every way. His performance was moving and yet also forward looking. He wrote some new songs for the occasion. We love and appreciate you so much, John!

Yes, John is using a plastic bag as some sort of kazoo-like instrument. Truly a one-of-a-kind performance that we were all so lucky to witness.

After we had a delicious meal in John’s honor. I got to hang with him all weekend. What a treat.

Devo legend Mark Mothersbaugh gave us the thumbs up. I can die now!

Pablo Capra and Narin Dickerson helped de-install the show. Thank you x 1 million (at least!).

Pablo somehow managed to slip on ALL of his old Monday Nights wristbands, what?!

Sebastian from Dem Passwords and Tookie joined in the de-install activities, as well Amy Darling (not pictured). I love you.
It was a pleasure and a privilege to host you all! Check out some photo booth photos from our closing party, August 23, 2025:
