Ellie Fortune is one of my favorite folk performers right now. The Sacramento songwriter exposes the heart of darkness in everything he sings about.

So I guess it’s no surprise that his new video, “President,” features methed up/cracked out dancing whack jobs at some sort of outdoor fair.

It could be “We Love Erie Days” or that carnival that was outside Women house just this past weekend.

Ellie Fortune (see the video above), as you may or may not remember, was in Hot Girls Cool Guys, a band that played a lot with Abe Vigoda a few years back. They even played a Monday Night (though I can’t seem to locate the photos right this second—is there anyone out there who wants to come work for me as an archivist?).
