Dealer = Leader
Band name: Dealer
Personnel: Vincent Catanho
Place of Origin: Santa Ana, CA
Next show: Tonight, February 7, at Pehrspace
This is the first Monday of the new Chinese New Year. Anything planned?
Orange chicken.
Dealer is just one of the many projects created by Vincent Catanho, currently the drummer of Socal sludgecore all-stars Slum Witch, plus equally radical ensembles like Sloppy Cock, Future Shock, and the one man band Ellen Degenerate. Catanho has a thriving label, too—Funki Brewski. Check it out. I’m glad he’s returned to noise…
So when did Dealer start out, and why?
I started Dealer about four months ago. I played the Santa Ana Noise Festival as Ellen back in October and got really into harsh noise again. Wrong Hole’s set was particularly amazing (see the tour video above).
What can people expect this Monday in terms of sonic, visual, and physical punishment?
I’m really sick right now so hopefully they’ll catch my death disease.
Are there any other bands you’d like to mention that you think people should know about, old or new?
NASA Space Universe, Wrong Hole, “Hard in Da Paint” by Waka Flocka Flame.
Lastly is there anything else you’d like to say?
GIVE ME MONEY.
