Here’s a FANTASTIC write-up we just got in the Detroit News:
“The L.A. music scene invades Detroit Tuesday night when the rock documentary ’40 Bands 80 Minutes’ shows at the Modern Exchange in Southgate. L.A. scene-ster and promoter Sean Carnage produced and directed the film, which is composed of 2-minute performances by 40 of L.A.’s hottest underground bands from all genres—and it was all shot in one night. It is nonstop, high-energy and amazingly diverse.
After Tuesday’s screening, two Metro Detroit punk bands will play: First up is Imp Villains, from local label Hooligan Records, followed by a band whose name shouldn’t be printed in a family newspaper.
The Modern Exchange also is a coffeehouse and vintage clothing store.
’40 Bands in 80 Minutes’ starts at 8 p.m. Cover charge is $7 for the screening and the concert. The Modern Exchange is at 12219 Dix-Toledo Road in Southgate. Call (734) 284-2547 or visit www.the modernexchange.com. Visit www.40bands80min utes.com to view a trailer from the film.”
